Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s push for a massive $2.5 billion tax increase to fund road repairs has renewed cries from some legislators and motorists about why the money can’t be taken from the assets of a $20 billion injured-drivers fund managed by the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association.
